MV Review- SECRET's "I'm In Love"

SECRET have had a rough ride recently: promotions for the fantastic "Talk That" were cut short by the car accident, Hyosung's Ilbe scandal resulted in quite a blow to their popularity and many were left disappointed by their last comeback "I Do I Do". Now SECRET are back with "I'm In Love", and when I say they're back I really mean it.

"I'm In Love" is hands down one of their best title tracks, including both sexy and cute concepts. This time they've returned to the former which we haven't seen since "Poison" almost 2 years ago. The jazzy big band sound which we've grown accustomed to in SECRET songs is here in full swing, bouncing around and supplying the song with energy and confidence. The group's vocals don't get drowned by the beat either; Jieun's clear voice and Hyosung's seductive tone take the lead as always but Sunhwa and Hana still hold their own. It's consistently lively all the way up to the obtrusive bridge, which slows the pace right back down to the beginning for all of 15 seconds. It just isn't needed whatsoever.

You'd think the bridge was just an excuse to show Hyosung in the shower again.
Admittedly it's nothing new or original, but it's pulled off so perfectly that its simplicity is only a strength. Duble Sidekick has certainly done a great job on this one.

Not only is "I'm In Love" one of their best sounds, it's one of their best looks as well. All of the members look gorgeous for this comeback, Hana especially seems to be getting a lot of positive reactions which is great to see since she's always been less appreciated than the others. The music video is also pretty standard fare: dance shots, close-ups and story shots showing the members undergoing therapy, but the ladies still dazzle with style. Many girl groups could execute the provocative dance moves in this video easily, but what makes SECRET a cut above when it comes to sexiness is their confidence, they make the performance seem so effortless that it looks natural.

The story's just SECRET getting upset during therapy but hey at least they look great.
Overall this comeback is just so perfectly suited to the group that there's no way this could have failed. Most reviews have been glowing and ignoring the YouTube comments, which are mainly about Hyosung's weight and accusing 1theK of stealing views, everyone is very pleased. The girls may have fallen from the top but with "I'm In Love" they've made a flawless recovery.
