MV Review- Taemin's "Danger"

When I heard Taemin would be the first member of SHINee to make a solo debut, I'll admit I was a little confused. He may be the most well-rounded of the group but he still didn't strike me as an obvious choice, especially with Jonghyun in the group. Nevertheless, SHINee's maknae has certainly proved himself with "Danger".

Imagine having to sneeze with that whopper.
Quite a few people say "Danger" reminds them of Michael Jackson,  but to me "Danger" sounds more like a normal SHINee song, which is both good and bad: it's good in that the confident chorus alone can easily carry the song and SHAWOLS will eat the song up, but it means Taemin fails to differentiate himself from the group - why give songs to Taemin when all the members can do it? The chorus and bridge more than make up for the lacklustre verses but there's still something missing, it ends all too quickly and you're

R.I.P Taemin's nipples.
Unfortunately I can't be so kind to the MV, which frankly was pretty poor considering SM's recent output. First of all, my god that styling *shudders*. From his curtain hair to the mesh shirt to those atrocious nose rings, it was just all sorts of wrong. I don't think I've ever seen the poor boy look so bad. The video also tries and fails to throw in some artsy stuff and Taeman being a rambunctious so-and-so, which was all a bit unnecessary and ultimately added nothing. But hey at least the choreography was good!

Ah yes, the classic zombie look.
Basically think of "Danger"'s MV as the complete opposite of "Red Light" and you're spot on.

Overall a decent offering from our young Taemin, and whilst it's fascinating to see how far he's come since debut, and I guess that's why he was chosen in the first place after all, I can't help but wonder if this would have been so much better with the whole group performing this song. The video may be a bit of a stinker but the song's a winner.
