Next Month in K-Pop- September 2014: T-ara, 2PM, Jay Park and Girls' Generation TTS!

August has been quite the month for K-Pop: we've seen the debuts of SM and YG rookie groups Red Velvet and Winner, the latter managing to take the number 1 spot with Empty, and the debut of Taemin as a solo artist. Former giants SECRET and KARA both made flawless comebacks and SISTAR leapt back to the top with "I Swear". Orange Caramel also came back with My Copycat and a video in the style of "Where's Wally?". This month also saw the return of Super Junior and EXID, both of whom had their first comeback in 2 years.

Jay Park is kicking off September with his second full album "Evolution", which will be released on the 1st with the lead single "So Good". The solo artist recently revealed the tracklist of the album on his Instagram account, as well as thoughts on his music and why he has only been releasing digital singles for the past couple of years, saying he wanted to put them into this album and is proud of his songs.

T-ara will comeback on the 11th with their tenth mini album "Sugar Free". The teaser picture that can be seen at the top of this article surprised many, as fans struggled to distinguish some of the members, namely Boram and Qri. T-ara made an impressive recovery after the bullying scandal with the brilliant "Number Nine" followed by "Do You Know Me" and this year members Jiyeon and Hyomin both made their solo debuts - Jiyeon with the confusingly named "Never Ever (1 Minute 1 Second)" (I have seen so many variations of this that I still don't know the right one) and Hyomin with the much more simple "Nice Body".

The 15th sees two boy band returning, Jay Park's former group 2PM and fangirl favourites Teen Top. 2PM's "Crazy" will be their fourth full length album. Whilst JYP has been going downhill lately 2014 has seen a rise in profits for them, let's hope 2PM's comeback is successful despite the group slowly declining in popularity. Meanwhile Teen Top have yet to actually reach the top, floating around the upper-middle tiers of K-Pop boy bands but have a loyal fanbase and will be releasing their second full length album "ÉXITO".

These are the only comebacks with confirmed dates but other artists are also scheduled to promote next month including rising group Crayon Pop, Roy Kim and Girls' Generations sub-group TaeTiSeo, who in 2012 smashed charts with "Twinkle", with the single selling over 2 million digitally and the album becoming the highest charting K-Pop album on Billboard (later beaten by both Mr. Mr. and then Crush). Will TaeTiSeo storm the charts, will Winner keep their number 1 spot or will SISTAR manage to claim the top place with their new single "I Swear"?
